Chen Tongkui, a representative of China’s hometown youth, has made it his mission to become a 6-time industrialist, graduated from Nanjing University in 2005, and is a former senior reporter for South Reviews. In 2009, he returned to Volcano Village on Hainan Island from Shanghai, dug water wells, built a mountain bike track, built a lodging house, created the Volcano Village lychee brand, took the lead in exploring the 6-time industrialization of lychee, and held five national hometown forums and four Farmer4 concerts. In 2020, he published his book, “Starting from the Hometown, Coming Back from the World” by Guangxi Normal University Press.

Since 2009, he has visited Taiwan and Japan more than 20 times to learn the experience of community building, agriculture brand and 6 times industrialization of agriculture.

With new ideas and new actions to recreate the hometown, in March 2014 he was invited to the United States Harvard University Business School lectures, was CCTV “Telling” program, Hunan TV “Day Day Up” program, Japan’s NHK TV, the United States National Geographic Channel documentary “China From Above”, filmed into a documentary.
