Sophia Wang is the Chinese Representative for ISO ESG International Workshop Agreement 48 (IWA 48), Member of the Hong Kong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Ratings and Data Products Providers Voluntary Code of Conduct Working Group (VCWG), Member of the ESG Standard Evaluation Expert Group, China Association for Standardization (CAS). She is the Bachelor of Laws, Executive Master of Business Administration from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Hong Kong. Prior to this, she served in the world’s largest ISO standards authority for 16 years, relocating from Beijing to Hong Kong in 2013 to delve deeper into the Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and overseas markets. Her primary research areas encompass Green bonds and loans, ESG, International standards, Compliance governance, Green finance, Climate and sustainable development, digital trust and privacy security. She boasts a well-established methodology from the origin of various international standards to the commercial implementation, actively facilitating their adoption in China and helping enterprises to develop in a high-quality and sustainable way.

With cross-border professional knowledge, management ability and market insight, she led the China Chengxin Green Finance International team to complete the breakthrough from the company’s founding to the first order of the full product market. Her efforts also led to the establishment of China Chengxin Certification Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the China Chengxin Group, contributing to the Group’s internationalization strategy and business expansion, as well as fostering the integration of Chinese practices with international standards.

She is the initiator of “ The Way of Things ” forum at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Hong Kong, dedicated to disseminating outstanding management practices between Beijing and Hong Kong.
