Professor Wang Hewu is the Director of the Zero Carbon Transportation Research Center at the Institute for Carbon Neutrality of Tsinghua University, a researcher at the School of Vehicles and Mobility, a doctoral supervisor, and the Deputy Secretary General of the China Electric Vehicle Hundred People’s Association. He received 11 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological awards, authorized 36 invention patents, and published over 150 academic papers. He has developed a big data analysis platform for new energy vehicle travel and charging, invented a decoupling algorithm for oil and electricity energy of new energy vehicles, and provided a scientific method for quantifying energy consumption and emissions of new energy vehicles. He has developed the first large capacity lithium battery combustion safety performance testing device in China, which achieves synchronous detection of “thermal electric” comprehensive parameters and in-situ detection of characteristic components during the thermal runaway process of the battery.
