Dr. Edoardo Monaco is an international development and sustainability specialist based in China, serving as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Social Sciences at BNU-HKBU UIC, and as a Member of the Chinese chapter of the Club of Rome. Originally from Italy, over the past 20 years he has worked and conducted research across a vast array of countries in Asia, the Pacific and beyond, exploring the “innovation-growth-nature” interplay and actively promoting holistic development governance via sustainable resource management, social inclusion and economic diversification. Dr. Monaco frequently contributes on global media outlets and regularly consults for prominent firms, international organisations (including UN agencies) and think tanks. He has represented China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF) at several environmental governance summits (e.g. UNFCCC COP28) and is currently a Senior Advisor to the World Green Design Organisation (WGDO).
