Dr. Feng Renjie, is a Research Fellow at Institute for Chindian Studies at Jinan University, Guangzhou, China. He also serves as Chairman, Center for Climate and Diplomacy (CCD)
Feng obtained his doctoral degree from the Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament (CIPOD), School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His research interests primarily focus on climate change negotiations.
From 2013 to 2017, he served as the English translator of CCTV’s bureau and has assisted its chief correspondent in New Delhi during high-profile diplomatic events. These include BRICS Summit, China- India Strategic Economic Dialogue and during Chinese leaders’ visit to India. He has also worked at a leading think tank based in New Delhi and has published multiple research articles on climate change governance, geopolitics, and foreign policy. These research articles have been published in some of the leading journals such as Contemporary International Relations, China Report, China Quarterly of International Strategic Studies, East Asian Policy, and International Studies.
Feng has presented research papers at various international conferences, such as the Area Studies Forum in Tsingua University and at the International Studies Association (ISA). He has participated in National Social Science Foundation projects and Tsinghua University Initiative Scientific Research Program. Feng also actively comments on current affairs on websites of top think tanks and media.
In June 2024, Dr. Feng Renjie registered and established the Center for Climate and Diplomacy (CCD) in Haikou, Hainan with the support of universities such as the Institute for Chindian Studies at Jinan University. The CCD is committed to promoting dialogues and cooperation among young scholars from developing countries on the climate-related issues such as green and low-carbon energy transition, and circular economy. The CCD has established cooperation with universities, think tanks, and civil society organizations in countries such as Malaysia, Japan, and India in the field of climate governance.
