Li Baoguo, Distinguished Professor, Dean of the College of Land Science and Technology at China Agricultural University, Dean of the National Black Soil Modern Agriculture Research Institute, and Director of Jilin Pear Tree Experimental Station; Fellow of Soil Science Society of American, Fellow of American Society of Agronomy; Deputy Leader of the Expert Guidance Group for Quality Construction of Cultivated Land and Protective Cultivation of Northeast Black Soil under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Deputy Director of the Expert Group for Top level Design of the Third National Soil Census, and Deputy Director of the Technical Group for Special Investigation of Saline alkali Land. Mainly engaged in research on the protection and utilization of black soil, improvement and utilization of saline alkali land, water-saving agriculture, prevention and control of soil degradation, resource and environmental information technology, and digital agriculture. He has successively presided over and completed the research on the monitoring and forecasting of regional water and salt movement, the key technology of agricultural development in the Huang Huai Hai Plain, water-saving agriculture in the North China Plain, the optimization model of integrated desertification control, the information and model technology of precision agricultural production design and management decision-making, and the protective use of northeast black land. Received the National Excellent Achievement Award for Social Service, the Second Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress, and multiple provincial and ministerial level awards for scientific research and teaching achievements.
